Is Alex Scott a fit for Spurs?

I've seen a lot of talk as of recent on the potential signing of Championship star Alex Scott, and honestly, as a Spurs fan situated in Bristol I can tell you I would be hyped if this pulled through.

The 19 year old Championship Player of the Year has shown much promise, receiving praise for performances across the season, and was without doubt one of Bristol City's top players in what was a disappointing season for the club.

Scott's best position is the advanced attacking role in a midfield (CAM or high CM) which is precisely what Spurs are lacking. As well as this, he has proven to be incredibly versatile, playing out wide, as a CDM and even as a right wingback! One of Scott's main traits is his great ball retention and dribbling, often seen dancing through opposition midfields and defences throughout the season, as well as his pinpoint passing and explosive energy he brings to any game. To me, Scott is a mixture of Grealish and Maddison, as can be seen through his ball carrying and dribbling abilities, and it is no wonder many clubs have been eyeing the youngster.

If that doesn't convince you enough, then here are Pep's comments on the player when Man City visited Ashton Gate in the FA Cup:

Pep Guardiola was full of praise for the highly talented Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott who has attracted big interest from Premier league clubs. The Spaniard described Scott as “an unbelievable player."

Well, if one of the greatest managers of all time sees promise in the lad, then surely we all should too?

Bristol City manager Pearson has repeatedly given out his praise for Scott, outlining his importance for the team. But enough about Bristol City, how would he do for Spurs?

Ange Postecoglou is known for his high octane, pressing style of football which he showed very well during his time at Celtic. He is known to play an attacking 4-3-3, with one pivot, and two of the other CMs running higher up the pitch in dangeruous positions to harm the opposition. In my opinion, Scott would excell here as mentioned earlier, the midfield is his best position due to his high energy, ball carrying ability and incredible short passing. In addition, Scott has often been called to play out wide for Bristol, so this gives some added depth to Spurs on the LW. No doubt the youngster may struggle for his frist couple games due to the jump from the Championship, but there is no doubt in my mind Ange will have him balling in a Spurs shirt in no time.

Now some may still prefer Maddison and undertsandably so, as he is the more experienced and safer option. However with Newcastle in the race to sign him, it seems unlikely Spurs may pull through. As well as this, Scott is easily one of the best upcoming talents in the championship, therefore Spurs could potentially miss out on an incredible player if they don't take the oppurtunity to sign him now.

So Alex Scott to Spurs? I say YES
