Bryan Gil is obviously an incredibly talented player. Although his talent is very raw and needs to be honed, the young Spaniard has bags upon bags of potential.
However, it remains to be seen if the 21-year-old can force himself into Antonio Conte’s plans in this Spurs team. I for one, believe Tottenham would greatly benefit from Gil’s presence in the squad this upcoming season.
Despite the plethora of quality attackers Spurs currently have at their disposal, Gil would undoubtedly improve the team. The Spaniard would offer a different dimension to the attack.
Gil’s relentless energy and forward passes would be an invaluable asset when Spurs are chasing games. Particularly when the team is struggling creatively against a low block, something that has haunted the club since Christian Eriksen’s departure.
Gil has a play style best defined as hectic and chaotic. His unpredictability is what is best about him, no one knows what his next move will be.
With the club looking to challenge on four fronts next season, rotation will be key. Spurs will need all the quality players they can find and Bryan Gil is objectively a quality player.
On Gil’s side of things, spending a season with Antonio Conte will be immensely beneficial. Conte has a proven track record of turning mediocre players into good players and good players into great players. And, if Gil plans on being a mainstay in this Spurs team for the coming years, he will need to be acclimated to Conte’s system, provided Conte himself stays at the club for the coming years.
Even if Gil is not getting an incredible amount of playtime, both the club and the player would benefit from the Spaniard spending the season in N17.
